To the surprise of many, the Eagles are riding a 5 game winning streak to a 5-1 record and the lead in the NFC East. Their most recent game was a statement win against the previously undefated reigning super bowl champion Bucaneers. Their defense has led the way, currently ranked 4th in the league in scoring defense. The offense is not far behind, ranking 12th in the league in points scored despite starting young players at many key positions. Offensively the team has witnessed multiple outstanding individual efforts. WR Quez Watkins, unfortunately injured in the Tampa Bay game, recorded a 200-yard game earlier in the season. More recently, HB Miles Sanders went off for 291 yards on only 13 carries to lead the team to their win over Tampa. On the defensive side of the ball the team has consistently made clutch big plays. Darius "Big Play" Slay has lived up to his nickname, recording a team-leading 7 INTs through 6 games with teammate Avonte Maddox close behind at 5.
